or charge a fee. You can add these keys to the default key definition or create
an entirely new keyset. If, at any time, you find yourself in need of
additional support, please contact our Technical Consultants at support@peakinfo.com or 801-572-3570 x2.
Prerequisites:

Defining a New Cash
Register Key Set
To begin,
navigate to Define > Cash Register > Cash Register Key Definitions
then click the [Add] button.

You may then
choose to begin from scratch by selecting Blank, or create a copy of an
existing key set definition and make changes as needed. In this example, we’ll
begin with a blank cash register screen.
Select [OK]
to proceed to the Cash Register Designer screen where you will be able
to add buttons, captions, images, adjust settings, and modify placement of all
of your added items.

Before
arranging your keys, you’ll want to set your [Cash Register Settings].

Cash
Register Name: Give your key set a title.
Options Menu
Layout: Choose from Horizontal or Vertical orientation.
List Font
Size: Allows you to select font size from small to extra-large for lists.
Designed
For: Select the size of screen you will be using this key set on, ranging from
a full computer screen to a small cell phone screen. For this example, we will
design for ‘Full Screen’
Stack once
width is below: Allows you to select the screen size at which items should
stack rather than remaining in place. (Think, using a key set on a cell phone
that has been optimized for a monitor.)
Select [Done]
once your settings are complete. Now you can begin adding buttons, captions and
images to your screen.
Adding a new Button, Caption
or Image
To add a
cash register button, select [+Button] key from the top of your screen

Enter the
button text, then select what Type of button you’d like to create. You can link the new button to one item or a
category of items like Fees, Merchandise or only food items.

The Activity
Registration and Facility/Park Reservations buttons are already included on the
default keyset.
Other key options include:
Ø Additional Keys: links to another set of keys that
can be defined for each concession item.
Ø Daily Pass: links to a specific day pass.
Ø Fees: this key can link to a list of all
fees that have been defined or a specific fee.
Ø Mass admittance: brings up a screen to enter a
group’s admittance count.
Ø Membership Sales: is included in the default keyset to
sell memberships.
Ø Membership Renewals: provides a shortcut to renew a
patron’s expired membership.
Ø Merchandise: can link to a list of items by
category or a specific item.
Ø Open Cash Drawer: opens the physical cash drawer
without a sale.
Ø Rental: links to all rental items or a
specific category i.e. locker rentals.
Ø Gift Cards: to sell gift cards with a default
dollar amount or custom amount.
Ø Individual admittance: can look up a patron to record an
admittance into the facility.
Ø UPC Code Entry(manual): can sell a merchandise item by
entering the UPC code.
Next you
will select the Button Color, Text Color, Font Color, Font Size and Caption
Group from the appropriate drop-down lists.

Select an
Icon for your button by clicking the [Select Icon] button. In the Icon
Manager screen, you can search for a specific icon using the search field or
you can simply scroll down the list. You may also choose to upload an icon so
long as you have the rights to use it legally. In our example, we select the
dollar sign for fees.

Once you
have selected your Icon, click the [OK] button to continue. Once you’ve
completed your selections, press [OK] to save and return to the Cash
Register Designer screen. Locate your button, then click and hold to drag
it to where you want it located on the cash register screen. You can also
resize the button by clicking and holding the bottom-right corner of the
button.

Once you’re
happy with the size and placement of your new button, you’ll click [OK]
to save.
Now pull up your register and you will see the new button will appear.

To add a
Caption to your cash register screen, select the [+ Caption] button.
