Two-Factor Authentication
using Gmail
In this
document, we will go over how to configure your Sportsman to send an email when
Two-Factor Authentication has been turned on within your GMAIL account.
This document will cover:
ü Creating the App Password from Gmail
ü Entering it into Sportsman
To begin go to your account settings located in your google
account settings, then navigate to the Security Tab as seen below. If
Two-Factor Authentication is in fact on, you will see an option called ‘Password
app’. If the password app option is not visible you need to enable your
two-factor authentication.
Click the ‘App Passwords’ option.
You will see the following:
Choose SELECT APP, then choose MAIL.
Next Choose ‘Windows Computer’ (or other device), then
click Generate.
It will then show a screen similar to the one below. Select
the code shown by copying it or writing it down.
Finally, go back to sportsman and click the Gear in the upper
right. If you use the system settings go to the system configuration and go
into the email settings and paste in the generated password under the ‘Email
Password’. If you use personalized settings select ‘Menu Settings’
on the left, then put the password into your email settings in the bottom right
as shown below.
Select OK in the lower left to save your settings.
