Requiring Pictures for
New Online Membership Purchases
ActivityReg has the option to require
a membership photo when patrons purchase a membership on your ActivityReg
website. This picture is the same as is
typically displayed in the users account in the Sportsman application. If this option is activated, ActivityReg
website will require users to upload a photo when purchasing a new membership. The technology uses face recognition
technology to verify a face is present and crops the picture to show just the
face which is optimal for display in Sportsman including the admittance
screen. If the picture uploaded has
multiple images, then a list of faces is presented to the user and they pick
the correct one. This reduces the burden
on patrons and makes it easy to use a single photo such as a family picture to
obtain all the necessary images. If a
non-human face or a poor quality image is identified, the system will prompt
the patron for a better image. Sportsman
also allows you to configure how long (such as 365 days) the image can be used
to purchase a new membership before a new photo is required. You can also prevent the replacement of
images once the membership has been purchased. Note that this feature is not yet available for
membership renewals.
Prerequisites: This feature works with the Membership module,
however you can also let patrons upload a picture to have in your Sportsman patron
information even without the Membership Module.

Enabling the Photo Requirement for New Membership Purchases
There is no system configuration
setting required to enabled this feature rather the setting is contained on the
membership type itself. This allows you
the flexibility to require membership pictures on some membership but not on
others. This means you must enable it
for each membership type where you want that functionality. The photo uploaded will show in the Sportsman
Patron information screens and will display upon entrance for that
membership. The same photo will, of course, be used for
multiple memberships.
NOTE: If you want to have the photo appear on the Account
tab of ActivityReg you will need to enable a Site Configuration
settings. See Other Resources
above for additional documentation.
Edit the membership definition you
want to require photos for via File>Maintain Tables>Memberships> Membership Types.
When you select the Internet checkbox, another screen will pop
up to choose specific settings.
You must select Show on Internet and Allow Internet Registrations (purchases)
checked.
Require Membership Picture For Included Members: Enables the picture
requirement on ActivityReg.
Require New Picture
If Older Than 999 Days: This sets an expiration date for an existing
picture. An option is available for
Adults 18 and over or Children under 18 years old.
Click [OK] to save your settings.
Once Enabled, the ActivityReg Membership screen will have either a green
icon next to the included people which indicates a valid picture is already
available or an Upload button to send a picture up. Only members who are checked to be included
are required to upload a photo.
Clicking on the red [Upload] button presents the upload screen
where users simply drag an image to the upload region or press the [+Image] button. If the customer is using a mobile device,
they can access their camera or photo gallery.
If the photo selected contains multiple faces, the user will be
presented with a list of faces found to select the correct one. .
The processing of uploading a picture
can be seen from the Sportsman application by simply viewing the patron’s
photo.
Once done, the red [Upload] button will be replaced by a green
person icon and the patron will be able to continue the process of purchasing the
membership using the [Select this Membership]
button.
