Time Slot Activities Using Day Pass Fees and
Punch Passes
The Time Slot program type with the
Daily Fee is a good choice for programs such as fitness classes. With this configuration, you can provide a
great interface for members and non-members to register for classes. You can configure this to charge different
fees such as adult, senior, child for non-members and offer members a reduced
fee or no fee option if that benefit is included in their traditional
membership. In addition you can use
Punch Passes along side with the membership option and consume individual
punches when they check-in. By doing
this all in one program, you can precisely control the registration to avoid
overbooking. You should understand the Time Slot
registration method before getting started.
Prerequisite: The Day Pass Fees requires you have the Sportsman
Point of Sale module. The Sportsman Membership module is required to offer
Punch Passes. You will also need Sportsman User permissions
to Define Activities.

Defining the Program With Daily Pass Fees
Define the activity as a Timeslot,
under the Walkup Fee Tab, select Daily Pass
Fees. The applicable Daily
Pass Fees table will appear on the right.
Using the [Add] , [Remove]
buttons: Add any Day Pass Fees which are applicable to this registration. You may need to add some additional ones
outside your normal day pass offerings.
Allow Member
Registration Option: By checking this option, Sportsman will add an option to
register as a member. During
registration it will validate the persons’ membership status.
Admittance Privilege: This option allows you to restrict which memberships are authorized
for registration. For example, you may
have some memberships that do not give you access to the member pricing for
this activity. In this case you define
an admittance privilege specific to this fitness benefit and specify it here. You then add this privilege to all the
membership types that should qualify for member registration to this
class. If you are defining multiple
classes, you do not need to define an admittance privilege for each class. You can think of it as a group privilege. If
all memberships in your system should have member pricing, then leave it blank.
Punch Pass Usage
If a member has a punch and a regular
membership and both have the privilege for the member pricing, the regular
membership will be used and the punch pass will not be used. If the regular membership does not have the
appropriate admittance privilege, then the punch pass will be consumed. The punch pass is consumed during the
check-in process, not during the registration.
The easiest way to follow what has
happened concerning punch pass or membership usage is to go to the Admittance control screen (Action>Admittance) and then click on
the [History] button. You can also click on the [Show Details] button from the Admittance
Control screen to generate a report of the history for an individual’s
admittances.
Tip: When
testing a registration check-in it only works the 1st time. However you can Remove the Check-In from a barcode
or QR code scan by going to the ‘Current
Activities’ screen (Action>Admittance>Show Current Activities) and
unchecking the Hide Patrons Who Already
Checked In check box, click on [Refresh], highlight the patron and clicking “Remove
Check-In”.
Reporting for Punch Pass Activity Types
Two reporting features were updated to
include the results from the reason for the admittance.
1.
The Reports>Admittance
- Admittance Log report will now show the punch pass
activity under the “Membership Type” column.
2.
You can also run the Admittance by Membership Type report which
will also include the punch pass activity type under the “Type” column.
